Regan Bervar
Raised between the North Cascades and the Salish Sea in the Pacific Northwest, I’ve always been inspired by a desire to capture the beauty of the world, big and small. I originally came from Honolulu, Hawaii, but moved to Washington State as a child and fell in love with the contrasting beauty of the landscape. I discovered photography as a way to document my stories and share them with the world.
I attended Western Washington University where I graduated with a Bachelor of Arts in Visual Journalism and an additional field of study in American Cultural Studies. During my time as a student, I worked for The Planet Magazine, Klipsun Magazine and The Western Front Newspaper. I was honored as the Planet Journalist of the quarter in 2018 for my story about a series of mysterious breast cancers in my family, Forbidden Fruit. I then went on to pursue the story with Grist Magazine where we were awarded second place in the Society of Professional Journalism Northwest Excellence Awards for our video.
I find my inspiration for my art and storytelling through the colors and patterns of nature and the world. Together, with my natural inquisitiveness, I weave them into my own unique style of photography and writing.
I have a background in photography, journalism, social media marketing and videography. I am a frequent traveler between Washington State and Colorado, and enjoy doing assignments and photography in both. Right now, I am living and working in Denver, CO as the Photo Editor for The Foxes Photography, an elopement photography team based out of Bellingham, WA.
Please don’t hesitate to contact me. I love meeting new creative minds!
